New Patients
The American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommend that children be seen by a dentist at the age of 1. Kids First Dental Group can begin seeing your child as early as an infant, but typically a child receives their first dental cleaning at the age of 3.
PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE TO INQUIRE WHETHER NEW PATIENTS ARE BEING ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME

When you and your child visit our office for the first time, here is what you can expect:
-
We like to invite your child to accompany our staff to the hygiene area without a parent
-
A parent is always welcome in the hygiene area with their child, if they choose
-
First….your child will receive a dental prophylaxis (clean and polish)
-
Second…your child will receive a topical fluoride application
-
Third…your child will receive any necessary radiograph x-rays
-
Fourth...your child will receive education and instruction, from our hygienists, on the ways to maintain proper oral hygiene.

Now it’s time to play! While waiting for their dental exam, your child is encouraged to partake in any of the fun activities we provide such as:
-
Multiple video games
-
Arcade games
-
Chalkboard
-
Coloring station
-
Various toys and prizes
-
Or just sit back and watch a movie!

Following play time, Dr. Laurie (Donlan) or Dr. Kate (Shadid) will perform a comprehensive exam to complete your child’s visit. Once your child’s exam has been completed, either Dr. Laurie, Dr. Kate or one of our assistants will speak with you regarding the doctor’s findings.
